Inclusive Higher Education Program Coordinator

Responsibilities
  1. Partner with college personnel and Viscardi Center staff on the implementation of the program at the college site.
  2. Oversee aspects of program logistics, i.e., space, transportation, program supply orders, on-campus visits, coverage, scheduling, provide support to staff where appropriate etc.
  3. Ensure program curriculum and activities are implemented with the objective of ensuring instruction supports each student’s learning outcomes and is in compliance with OPWDD.
  4. Provide instruction on specific topics as designated by the program calendar.
  5. Ensure assessment information is gathered, as well as required documentation and attendance information.
  6. Support special events related to the program and other duties as assigned.
  7. Create, maintain, and enter daily notes for participants into Medisked database. Additionally, ensure staff are completing required notes.
  8. Drive students locally to offsite vocational opportunities or trips.
  9. All other duties that may be required for efficient and effective delivery of services.
Qualifications & Education

Bachelor’s degree in education, disabilities studies, or related field preferred. Knowledge of OPWDD programs (Day Hab and Pre-Vocational) is preferred. Excellent communication and organization skills, experience in instructing a group of individuals, demonstrated cultural competency, and ability to travel locally are required. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus. Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License
